“Where is He... in our life?”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Where is the Lord Jesus Christ in your life? Does He take priority in your daily life? Weekly? Do you regularly attend church? How is your prayer life? These questions are often a passing thought for us in our walk with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but often times life's priorities, necessities, and even distractions come through in our life as a tragic gnawing away at our relationship with our Savior.
Pastor Doctor shares his thoughts about this very important subject in this week's sermon.
We at Jordan Valley Baptist Church hope and pray that you know the Lord and that His compassion, love, and grace are present and blessing your life. If you do know Him, we pray you spend time with Him regularly.
Happy New Year. May this new year be the year that we all repent, turn to Jesus Christ, and walk with Him into the blessings and abundance only found in His sacrificial love, bridging the chasm our rebellious, sinful nature has left between us and our Father.
Notes & Quotes:
“Well it all comes back to the original question, asked by the Wise Men, 'Where is He?'"
"A whole lotta people... have left [their faith]."
"Now sometimes we have storms in our life. We have troubles, we have trials, we have tribulations... ...He is watching over us and protecting us in one way or another."
"In Paul's situation, God was right where He needed to be. Remember, one of the stories, they stoned him, they thought he was dead... ...after those that stoned him left, they [the disciples] came to him and he [Paul] got up and took off with them."
"I always say this, when we pray and ask God. It's a 'yes', 'no', or 'wait'. And we like a 'yes', we don't like the 'no', and the 'wait' is hard sometimes, too."

“Wise Men... why they are wise!”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.”

“Did you forget something?”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
18 And all they that heard itwondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.”
Christmas isn’t about the giving, the decorations, the traditions, or anything except the Gift of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This Gift was given first in the knowledge to a group of shepherds. It was a lowly, humble job in those days, often being considered unclean. But God revealed His plan of salvation through Jesus to them first.
“17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.”
Pastor asks, “Did you forget something?” as a calling to remember what God has given to you in the salvation and grace provided to you through Jesus Christ.
Don’t forget about what He did for you
Don’t forget to spread the good news.
Don’t forget the grace,
the mercy,
the love
the salvation
that comes only by surrendering to the knowledge, accepting the truth, and believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Pastor asks, “Did you forget something?” in today’s message. We at Jordan Valley Baptist Church hope you know the truth of Jesus Christ and haven’t forgotten to share Him with others.
Don't allow the enemy to confuse or distract you.
Let God be your Lamp, your Guide, your Beacon
in the midst of the storms of confusion and doubt
that will inevitably come your way.
Don't forget Him.
He is there, trust in Him.
Notes & Quotes:
“To God no one is too low for Him to save.”
Early on poem about depressed shepherds here: [poem]
“Listen- God always… always has the best plan.”
“They were so convinced by it all, they didn’t care what others were going to say or think… they were going to tell them anyway.”
“Aren’t you thankful that you’re saved!? Don’t you want to spread that Good News!?”
“Jesus is the Savior of all, equally.”

"Jesus... His first Coming"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.”
Christmas is the celebration of our Savior's birth or ... His first coming to the earth. He was born of a virgin, Mary, and Joseph was chosen to be His earthly father. He was our prophesied Messiah, Immanuel (God with us).
Pastor tells us of our Savior's birth and some of the prophesy He fulfilled in today’s message.
Pastor Mentions:
Hal Lindsey (1929-2024): a prominent American Christian author, teacher, and broadcaster known for his dispensational, premillennial interpretation of biblical prophecy. His work focused on connecting biblical prophecies to current and near-future events, making him a household name in America during the 1970s and 1980s.
December 12th, 2010 - They are all virtually before us right now. He said there were four signs he was looking for:
Uniting of the Europeon countries which is called the United Nations
The decline and fall of the United States as an independent, sovereign world power
Uniting the global economics under one central control
Brings a movement to the one world government, the New World Order
Notes & Quotes:
"You see this Christmas season is when we celebrate the first coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ."
"Jesus came as the scriptures record for us. He was the Messiah, He was the Redeemer, our Savior. Fully God. Fully man. At the same time. A lot of people don't don't get that."
"When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, plunged the whole world into sin. God promised then to send a Messiah."
"What does Immanuel mean? God with us."

“There Is No little Sin"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
13 And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.”
From a tiny lie to genocide... does the Lord discriminate about sin? What does the Bible say about this? Are there heavier sins than others? We often believe there are in our human nature. Things like, "Well, I've never killed anyone." and the like go through all of our minds. They're all sins in God's eyes. If it's against God, it's sin.
Pastor explores this in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“Why was he [Cain] mad at his brother? Eh? Well... jealousy. Oh boy."
"Do not touch the Ark. But he [Uzzah] did, and he died. It cost him quite a bit, didn't it?"
"Fifty-thousand, seventy men... died. Wow. Their sin angered God."
"To obey is better than sacrifice."
"Their sin of lying angered God."

“Bless the Lord, Oh My Soul"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“1 (A Psalm of David.) Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.
10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
21 Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.”
Every blessing that we enjoy isn’t because of our government, our family, our work, or anything else. We may be blessed by them, but all blessings come from God. We ought to be thankful for the many blessings God has given us.
Pastor explores this in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“Christ declares for us to be free and to serve Him in love.”
“We are saved forever.”
“I do not deserve all that He’s blessed me.”
“Are you truly saved and born again today?”

“The Man God Called a Fool”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
Is our behavior foolish? You see in our passage where this man in the parable thought he had accomplished so much that he thought he could take it easy - eating and drinking and being merry. He thought more about his bodily pleasure than his eternal soul's security.
Do we often ask for God’s guidance or provision? Do we seek His face and will in all that we do? Or do we lean on our own greatness? Our own understanding? Our own devices? Our own wealth?
Is God pleased with what you’re doing? Or would He say, “Thou fool.”
Pastor explores this in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“The body is dust. But the soul is the spirit. It will live on forever and ever and ever.”
“He failed to include anyone else in his plan. Just self.”

“What are we to do now that the election is over?”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.
13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;
18 Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.
21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.”
What happens now? Many Christians including our church were praying that Trump would’ve been elected. He has been. What do we do now?
We have choices each day. We can choose to spread the good news of Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross for us all. We can choose to be complacent. We can choose to let the things of the world distract and busy us to exhaustion.
What will you choose?
Pastor explores this in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“I remember a time when you wouldn’t hear a swear word on TV.”
“I remember a time when you wouldn’t see a half-naked woman on TV.”
“We need to speak out against what’s wrong and speak up for what is right.”
“So as Christians we need to live our faith, share our faith, be salt and light however we can for as long as we can.”
“So many people are gonna say, “Whew, now I can do whatever I want to do.”

“Recognizing the Times”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
Can you imagine living in the days of Noah? The evil ran rampant to the degree that only Noah’s family was seen as holy and pleasing to God.
Jesus says in verse 37 of our passage that, “as in the days of Noe [Noah]… so also shall the coming of the Son of man be.”
Do we see the world living in sin, defending their sin, scoffing and hating their Creator these days?
Pastor gives examples of how the government has upheld being irresponsible, vulgar, obscene, and downright sinful as freedoms / lawful acts in our culture [See Timeline Below]. Our Christian men and women at every step of the way should have stood up against these pushes against God's law and biblical morality.
Pastor explores this and much more in today’s message.

“Perilous Times Shall Come..."
By Pastor Silas Doctor
“1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
God’s Word is meant as an instruction manual for righteous living. How often does someone not read the instructions and expect the correct results? You can’t live righteously without the Word of God.
Pastor explores the importance of righteous living through the teachings and instructions of the Bible in today‘s message.
Notes & Quotes

“Just because they go to church doesn’t mean they’re going to go to heaven.”

"We Must Vote... And We Must Vote Right."
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“1 And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
2 Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba.
3 And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.
4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,
5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
8 According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
9 Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.
10 And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.”
We are at a critical place in our nation. We must vote for the next generation. Their freedom. Their best interest. Pastor urges us to vote for the candidate that will allow these things in today's message.
Notes & Quotes:
“Providence has given to our people the choice of their ruler, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers." - John Jay, First Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court
"I believe my first calling is to preach the gospel. My second calling is to make sure the gospel can be preached to the next generation. God has placed in our hands the stewardship of the government. Yet out of 85 million Bible-believing Christians in America only half of them are registered to vote. And out of those that are registered, only half of them actually vote."

“But there is a God in heaven…”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter.
24 Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will shew unto the king the interpretation.
25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.
26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name wasBelteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
29 As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.
30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.”
There is a God in Heaven. The Alpha and the Omega. The Comforter. He loves you. Do you know Him as your Savior?
We are prone to rely on our own deeds and our own thoughts. We get easily discouraged as Pastor points out about the Hebrew people being delivered from bondage in Egypt. We have to keep our eyes on Him and realize that there is a God in heaven - He is there for us. Through the depths of the sea. Through the fiery furnace. Through the den of lions. Through all things.
Pastor Doctor urges you to realize that there is a God in Heaven that loves you and died for you. You can see his sermon in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“When we are called upon to stand on our convictions. We must stand up.”
“Listen… the whole world seems to be against us sometimes. Sometimes we can get depressed. But listen… we have a God in heaven.”

“Are You Watching?”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
Jesus Christ is coming soon. Are you ready? Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? If you do, are you really living for Jesus?
Pastor Doctor urges you, through scripture, to see the signs of the times and come to repentance today. Listen to Pastor’s urgent call to you to come to the Lord Jesus Christ in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“If we look around us in the world today, if this isn’t the season, I don’t know what is.”
“We ought to have the desire to live our lives to please Him.”
“Everything we think, everything we say, everything we do. He’s watching.”

“Doom of a Nation”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“1 Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.
2 And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely.
3 O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
4 Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.
5 I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.
6 Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased.”
Do you listen to the correction of the Lord God? We all know the things we do that are wrong but many people’s hearts are hardened to the things they do wrong. God’s judgment will be upon them.
It seems like there may be a turning back to God in the young people. Is it too late? We see in God’s Word in today’s passage how God will judge those who deny and turn away from Him. Could we, as America, face judgment from our Lord?
We surely deserve it.
Pastor Doctor explores this in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“Ohio State has had some revivals going on on their campus. That’s amazing.”
“If we as a nation don’t get right with God, He could allow it… just as He did with Isreal.”
“America… better wake up.”
“With that, I am saying, look out America.”
“We ought to get back to honoring and glorifying Him like we should. In. Every. Thing. In everything.”
“I would love to see America continue.”
“The Bible says we should crucify the flesh. For Him.”

“Zacchaeus”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
In our passage today, the Lord says “salvation has come to this house”. You see that Zaccheus repented of his ways and took action. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? If you have, have you acted on the imbued Holy Spirit’s calling on your life?
Pastor Doctor explores this in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“He [Zaccheus] was wealthy. But he wasn’t happy.”
“satan had lied to him that wealth and fame would make you happy.”
“There are people dying every day around the world for the Lord Jesus Christ.”
“If you are truly saved and continuing in sin, God will take you to the woodshed. Why? Because He loves you.” Revelation 3:19

“Walk the Old Paths"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there isno peace.
15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
18 Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what isamong them.
19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.”
There are clear differences between God’s ways and the world’s ways. God knew the things we would be tempted with; the things that would confuse us; the ways we would sin. He gave us His Holy Word to give us guidance on how to live.
As the old acronym says:
Basic
Instructions
Before
Leaving
Earth
Time is always running and in these days it surely feels that time is running out. Choose God’s ways today. Don’t wait. Jesus says in Matthew Chapter 7, verses 13 and 14, "13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."
Pastor Doctor explores this in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“We need to make today count; one way or another. Never take a single moment for granted because tomorrow is not guaranteed.”
“When you walk in the light, you don’t experience the fear that others do - because you see the path.”
“We need to crucify the flesh. The flesh always wants to be satisfied.”
“Even when I can’t feel Him, God is still God.”

“The Keeper of the Oil”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“25 And over the king's treasures was Azmaveth the son of Adiel: and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the castles, was Jehonathan the son of Uzziah:
26 And over them that did the work of the field for tillage of the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub:
27 And over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite: over the increase of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite:
28 And over the olive trees and the sycomore trees that were in the low plains was Baalhanan the Gederite: and over the cellars of oil was Joash:
29 And over the herds that fed in Sharon was Shitrai the Sharonite: and over the herds that were in the valleys was Shaphat the son of Adlai:
30 Over the camels also was Obil the Ishmaelite: and over the asses was Jehdeiah the Meronothite:
31 And over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagerite. All these were the rulers of the substance which was king David's.
32 Also Jonathan David's uncle was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe: and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king's sons:
33 And Ahithophel was the king's counsellor: and Hushai the Archite was the king's companion:
34 And after Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar: and the general of the king's army was Joab.”
Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior? How will you serve Him? Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Will you walk in the path that God has ordained you to walk? Serving the King is an honorable thing. He knows what He made you for and where you can serve Him best.
Pastor explores this in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“In that day, the keeper of the oil literally kept the lights on in all of Israel.”
"We're God's watchmen. We need to be warning people."
"Do it out of love for the King."
"Help us to be the keepers of oil that You want us to be."

“Let's Make a Deal”
by Pastor Silas Doctor
“23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.”
Let's make a deal, the old gameshow, would offer contestants a choice. Oftentimes, one deal may be good while another was even better. Sometimes, the best deals come to those who persist and continue on through the trials, temptations, and difficulties that come with choosing the better life and reward.
God gives us a choice. satan tries to give us temporal pleasures that last only in this lifetime - and often for only a moment. God offers us eternal life through His son, Jesus Christ.
Pastor explores this in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“Satan offers you a deal. He will give you immediate pleasures... if it feels good, do it. If it looks good, take it. If it sounds good, go for it... the Bible refers to this deal as 'the pleasures of sin for a season'.”
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” - Mark 8:36

“Missions Ready”
“1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.”
The mission field is not just overseas. It is not in specific areas. It is all around us. It is wherever God has called you. If you’re saved, are you working in your mission field as God calls you to?
Brother Zach Smith explores this in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“Not going to America Samoas to make them Americans or to make them love Ohio, but to make them love God.”
“We prayed and asked God to open and close doors.”
“We want to learn their culture not to be one of them but to show them that we love them and so does God.”
“There is rejoicing in heaven when one soul comes to Jesus.”
“What can we do to be missions ready?”
“Does your plan have room for God today?”
“When god wants you to reach your friends and loved ones the devil is in complete opposition.”
“Where God leads He lends his hand”
It’s not usually the first time someone hears about God that they are saved.
“If you’re here today, and you are saved, you have the opportunity to tell someone.”

“satan’s attack on America”
“34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
—————————
46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.”
Are you saved? If you are, are you living as though He is the most important person in your life? Are you loving Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, as Jesus said (v.37)?
Whom do you serve?
satan is working hard for our attention, time, effort, and energy. This world has been filled by the enemy with so many deceptions and distractions to keep us from God, Jesus, and our fellow believers.
If you are saved and know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, does your life represent your love for Him? How you speak, how you act, what you do with the time God has given you, how you dress - every thing you do either represents your love for Him or your love for worldly things and ways.
Pastor explores these topics in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“I guess the question is: has the devil been successful with his schemes? Yes. Oh yes.”
“By the way, the word busy. B.U.S.Y. Being Under satan’s Yoke”
“A parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning.”

“Behold, I Make All Things New”
1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
There’s no detours in God’s Word or Gospel. Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life”, the Bible says, continuing that, “no man comes to the father but by Him.” (John 14:6)
There are false teachers in many churches today. The Bible shows us the truth. Brother Doug Day explores this in today’s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“He does everything well. He does everything good.”
God is long suffering to us. He wants all of us saved. (2 Peter 3:9)
“If we look like the world, then we just blend in like a chameleon.”
“There are so many that listen to the lies… and they fall right for it.”
“Jesus Himself is the Word.” (John 1:1-14)
“They don’t want the truth… they don’t want the truth at all.”

“The Tale of Two Minds”
2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
--------
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
Most folks’ minds and lives are focused on the world and godless activities and thinking. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, our mind and thinking changes.
Pastor explores this in today‘s message.
Notes & Quotes:
“Too often we surrender to the temptations of the devil in the flesh.”
“A Godly remind should be a remembering mind”
“A Godly mind is a right mind”
King David wanted to build a new temple, God didn’t have him do this - instead he encouraged his son, Solomon to do so. God still used him, but had a different plan.
What am I doing that I shouldn’t be doing or what am I not doing that I should be doing?
“We should be letting God and his word control our thoughts and our mind.”
An ungodly mind is a forgetful mind
A mind that chooses not to remember what God has already shown them. They don’t want to be convicted.
Ungodly mind is influenced by the world.
“He that never thinks can never be wise.”
“We need to guard our thought life.”
“If you’re not saved satan has your mind today.”
People are concerned about the little blip that is their life, not focused on eternity
Satan will do everything in his power for us to not obey God

“Absolute Obedience”
12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
13 To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
14 Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD'S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.
15 Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
18 He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
20 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
21 He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.
22 Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.
Have you not wanted to listen to the Lord and His will for your life? That is a natural, human reaction to authority.
God requires our absolute obedience. Pastor explores this in today’s sermon.
Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior? We pray you do. If not, why not? It is your choice. Please make that most important decision today to accept Him.
Notable Quotes:
“Like it or not, all of us - all of us - have to obey some authority, some place, some time - all of the time.”
"A sunday school teacher once asked a class, 'How is the will of God done in Heaven?' One child answered, 'Cheerfully.' Another answered, 'By everybody.' A third, 'All the time.' The best one answered, 'It's done without asking any questions.' " - D.L. Moody

"The Rest of Our Lives"
“1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.
6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.
7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
Do you deny your flesh? We are all drawn by a longing to serve our flesh and our fleshly desires. When you get saved, the Holy Spirit helps to sanctify you against the fleshly desires of this world.
If you are saved and you want to serve the Lord, you only have the rest of your life to do it. Now is the time to listen to the Holy Spirit. Pastor Doctor explores this in today’s sermon.
Notable quotes:
“satan works on the five senses; they’re all fleshly.”

Beth-el: The House of God
God wants us to give back to Him what is His or we rob Him.
Tithing is important.
Prayer is important.
Witnessing is important.
Pastor speaks about the difficult subject of money and the church in today's message.
Notable quotes:
“This is the second mention of tithes or tenths and the first specific dedication of them to God. And from this place we make a clue that Jacob, the grandchild of Abraham, vowing the tenth of all as Abraham gave a tenth of the spoil.”
“As a pastor, I’m well aware of how many people have the assumption that all pastors want to talk about is money. The funny thing is, after 20 years in the ministry, and communicating with regularly thousands of pastors, I can firmly assert that talking about money is one of the least favorite things to do. Especially in our culture where personal finances are very... personal.“

“Things I Have Learned In The Desert”
by Brother Steve
Four points:
He hears me
Psalm 40:1 - "(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.”
1 John 5:14 - “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:”
He is faithful
Hebrews 10:23 - “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”
This will not last forever
Revelation 21:4 - “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
I am not alone
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 - "3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."
Notable quotes:
“We need to be near the source.”

“Why the World is Not Heeding the Warning of God’s Wrath”
Passage of the week: Isaiah 6
"1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
12 And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
13 But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof."
Are you a good person? If you answered yes - do you really know Jesus as your Savior? We all fall short of God’s standards.
We live in a society that believes morality is subjective, open to the whims of culture and mob rule. The truth is: God’s standards are the basis of a very objective and real morality that has no deviations at all.
Pastor explores in today’s message how pride keeps many away from the salvation found in Jesus Christ.
Justification of your own sin leads to perishing - this is pride, puffing yourself up, comparing yourself to others instead of to God’s laws.
Jesus is the only way to salvation. Do you trust in Him? Do you know Him?
Notable quotes:
“God does not deliberately make sinners blind or deaf. He doesn't harden hearts but the more that people resist God's truth, the less able they are to receive God's truth. But the servant is to proclaim the Word no matter how people respond for the test of the ministry is not outward success but it's our faithfulness to the Lord." - Warren Weirsbe
“Don’t make the mistake of believing that pride only exists in the world… it’s in the church, as well.”
“You ought to use your talents for His glory, not yours.”

"Are you strong enough to be a real man?"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
June 16th, 2024
Passage of the week: 1 Kings 2:1-4
"1 Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,
2 I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;
3 And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:
4 That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel."
Pastor shows biblically what we are to do as fathers, showing our children the love of God through our actions and our deeds, our words and our mannerisms. Our children watch our every move; can we really ask them to do things that we never do? Or to not do things that we model to them every day? Pastor explores this and much more in today's sermon.
Notable quotes:
“...for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.” Ecclesiastes 2:17b
“There are 1,000,000 children born in America every year that are born out of wedlock.”
"There is no better role model for manhood than our Heavenly Father. We should pattern our lives after Him."
“Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children.” ― Charles R. Swindoll

"Home Improvement"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
"18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed."
Genesis 2:18-25
Pastor explores how our family's have been attacked by the enemy, causing divorce and ungodliness to become rampant in our society. Promiscuity, abortion, and other evils have permeated our culture - and the rise of these actions is widely accepted among the youth as good and morally acceptable things. The enemy has deceived so many.
God's Word is clear on many of these issues that have been politicized - there are no sides to truth. There is no "my truth" or "your truth"; only the truth.
Notable quotes or thoughts:
"There must be improvement in our homes before there can be improvement in the world."

"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places."
by Pastor Silas Doctor
"3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)"
Matthew 24:3-15
Pastor discusses how the end times are being revealed throughout the world and in our lives today, including how natural disasters, including earthquakes, and diseases are on the rise. He speaks about how those in our judicial and administrative systems are corrupt, letting the systems' acquiesce to the religious zealotry of the 'woke'-driven agendas of the day.

"The Importance of Memories"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
"7 Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the LORD into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.
9 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.
10 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.
12 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
13 O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
14 He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
15 Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;"
1 Chronicles 16:7-15
Pastor shows in the Bible how we pay proper respect for those who give their lives for freedom, opportunity, and to protect those they love. Over 41,000,000 people have served our country to protect our lives, freedoms, and given us so many opportunities.

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
by Pastor Silas Doctor
"1 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
-----------------------------------
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.
8 They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.
9 And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.
10 For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.
11 Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart."

"Global Unrest (and a bunch more)"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
"10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel," Ephesians 6:10-19
The world as a whole is at a state of unrest. Wars, rumours of wars, earthquakes, storms, so-called 'climate change', and much more is happening all across our world. We have American college campuses with chanting "Death to America" and other such atrocities. There is so much happening all across our world, it's overwhelming sometimes.
Pastor encourages us, scripturally, to adorn the Whole Armor of God, and really understand who our enemy is. To stand up for the truth of the Word of God, not let the fear they sell to affect us or make us sway in our firm foundation in Jesus Christ.
There are so many signs of the enemy's plans and schemes if you pay attention. From the U.N.'s global agenda to the WEF's push for a one-world currency, there is so much happening that point towards what the Bible shows us clearly in the antichrist's system, which must be in place for the implementation of the mark of the beast.

Other verses in our sermon today:
Jesus Christ died for your sins. His death, burial, and miraculous bodily resurrection paid for your sin debt. Death, hell, and satan are already defeated. But you must accept God's free gift of salvation. He doesn't send anyone to hell. It is your own, free, choice. Do you have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ? We at Jordan Valley Baptist Church pray that you do. If you don't, please settle it today. God loves you so much. He is not willing that any perish but that all come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

"Sleeping Churches"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
"8 Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.
9 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall throughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets.
10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
11 Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.
12 And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD.
13 For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
18 Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.
19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it."" Jeremiah 6:8-19
These verses speak about Israel, but a lot of it echoes in the remnants of what America has become. Pastor's sermon today explores how we have seen, ramping up, a great falling away from God, the church, and biblical teaching. This falling away is obvious in today's American churches, as they lean towards their own understanding instead of leaning wholly on the Word of God. These churches that are catering to worldly ways are unconcerned with God's word. They want a feel good experience at church. A warning; not scare tactics; but a warning, from God's word.
In a 2004 survey, they found that only 9% of all born-again adults had a Christian worldview. What does this mean? It means that they believe that absolute moral truth exists and it's based on the Bible. Only 9% of self-proclaimed Christian adults believed this. This same report showed that only 51% of protestant pastors had a Christian worldview with the same ideals.
This report had these six core criteria for their worldview:
The accuracy of biblical teaching
The sinless nature of Jesus Christ
The literal existence of Satan
The omnipotence and omniscience of God
Salvation by grace alone
The personal responsibility to evangelize
This was in 2004. In 2022, another research center did a study on this topic. They found that 37% of evangelical pastors have a biblical worldview. The majority, 62%, of those pastors had a hybrid worldview that combined multiple worldview.
Sadly many of these churches are looking to please your ears, give you a feel good message, rather than the truth. The truth corrects, rebukes, reproves, exhorts, and helps you to grow in the knowledge, faith, trust, and understanding of the truth of Jesus Christ, God's Word, and His commandments and love for us. These Sleeping Churches prefer to teach in a way that soothes like a lullaby and pleasantries to keep people coming.
Pastor explores this and more in today's sermon. Click here to view today's sermon on Facebook.

"Is God angry with America?"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
"21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee." Matthew 11:21-24
The purpose of this sermon is to serve a warning to those who follow God and those who currently find themselves lost, knowingly or unknowingly. Many things are happening today that could easily cause fear in the hearts of men and women across the world.
There are wars, rumors of wars, as Matthew 24:6 says, and earthquakes in diverse places, as Matthew 24:7 says. There are many things happening, biblically and prophetically. Many things that have happened in our past, globally, have been warnings from God. Pastor Doctor explores these warnings from God in his sermon this morning.
Jesus suffered, bled, and died on the cross - and He rose again on the third day - that we may live. Do you know Him? If you do know Him as your Savior, do you live for Him?

"Why Study Prophecy?"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
"And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not." // "And he said also to the people, "When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?" Luke 12:39-40, 54-56
Did you know that according to the book by J. Barton Payne entitled Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy that there are 1,817 (1,239 Old Testament, 578 New Testament) prophecies in the Bible? As you can see in our text that Jesus Himself called the chief priests and elders He was speaking to that they are hypocrites for seeing the signs of the weather but ignoring the signs of His coming and fulfillment of prophecy.
Prophecy protects us from future deception. It helps us to realize what is true and right and just. Knowing what is to come, Biblically, helps us to be safeguarded from satan's guile, deceit, and temptations. Nothing our flesh desires is eternal; satan will work on your flesh and tempt you. Keeping God's word and His prophecies close to your heart and deep in your mind will help you to ward off these attacks from the enemy.
There is much happening in the world today that reflect scripture. Wars and rumours of wars (Matthew 24:6); earthquakes and disasters in divers places (Matthew 24:7). Much is happening if you can see the signs. See our End Times Flyer or Postcard Mailer.
Do you know Jesus as your personal Savior? We pray you do. If not, please settle it today. This life is fleeting. Prophecy is being fulfilled before our very eyes. Please get right with God by accepting the truth of the life, death, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. You were on His mind as He suffered, bled and died for your, my, and everyone else's sin-debt.
If you do know Him as your Savior, are you serving Him? Are you living for Him?
This world is temporary... the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross is eternal. He lives today.

"The Beginning of Sorrows"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
"And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Matthew 24:3-8
The last days are the beginning of sorrows. These times are coming, the signs are there. It is not a coincidence. The signs of the times are clear as day to anyone who is reading their Bible, knows their Bible, or hears people biblically preaching Scripture. From seven (God's number) cities named Nineveh in the path of the total solar eclipse tomorrow, earthquakes in diverse places as our scripture today states, there are many signs of Jesus' return, scripturally happening. Pastor Doctor explores just a small piece of this as he starts his sermon's about the end times.
Did you know that in the early 1800s we also had two eclipses that crossed paths similarly to the ones in 2017 and tomorrow's solar eclipse? Did you know that many earthquakes followed along the New Madrid Faultline? Listen and learn as Pastor explains how things happen to get our attention.
Other scripture used in today's sermon:
Luke 21:10-11 - "Fearful sights and great signs from heaven"
Matthew 24:27 - "Lightning"

"He is RISEN"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
"And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.” Mark 15:42-43
He is RISEN. Today, we started with the Gospel of Mark Chapter 15 and read verses 42 through Chapter 16, verse 15. Joseph of Arimathaea comes with boldness unto Pilate, the governor, seeking the body of Jesus. Joseph took the body and wrapped it in fine linen and Jesus was laid to rest in the tomb, but pay attention to Verse 47. Mary Magdalene and Mary, Jesus' mother, saw where Jesus was laid.
Continuing on into Chapter 16, we see Mary Magdalene and Mary, the mother of Jesus, returning on the first day of the week to anoint Jesus with sweet spices. Even afar off, they noticed the stone was rolled away (16:4). Jesus showed Himself first to Mary Magdalene (16:9). We finish our main passage this week with the proclamation by Jesus to "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (16:15)
Other verses from today's sermon:

"Our King Has Come"
by Pastor Silas Doctor
"And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.” Matthew 21:9
Matthew 21:1-11 Jesus' Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem
1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
We look to many leaders in our life. From our earthly fathers to school leadership, city councils, all the way up to presidents, prime ministers, and kings. But only our King came to serve. Pastor Doctor explores our King's entry into Jerusalem and speaks about His life and His work, finished with His death on the cross and His bodily resurrection from the dead.
Ushered into Jerusalem riding a donkey and taking a meek, servant stance - that of our true King of kings and Lord of lords.

No religion, denomination, good works, government, king, or anyone or anything else can save you. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) You may think, you're not a bad person... the Bible says, "There is none righteous, no, not one:" (Romans 3:10).
Jesus Christ is our only hope.
As Pastor Doctor said in his sermon today, our Lord and Savior could come back - "in a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a second." If you don't know the Lord as your personal Savior, we at Jordan Valley Baptist Church would pray that you'd settle that today. Click here or the button below to read about how you can be saved, biblically, and know that you're heading for Heaven.
God bless you as you make the most important decision you could ever make:
to confess your sins, repent, and believe and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

"Nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” Luke 22:42
by Pastor Silas Doctor
39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
The Lord took Peter, James, and John (the sons of Zebedee - Matt. 26:27) to a garden called Gethsemane at the Mount of Olives. Here, Jesus felt intense sorrow and was heavy, as a man, for the knowledge of the suffering, pain, and separation from God he was about to endure to save us from our sins.
He cries out to God multiple times, asking God to let this cup pass from him. But each and every time, he always leaves it in God's will.
Is your life in God's will? Do you pray for His will in your life or ask Him to do things for you, wanting your will to be the king of your life? Have you sought what God's will for your life is? Do you pick up your cross and carry it?
If you don't know the Lord as your personal Savior, we at Jordan Valley Baptist Church would pray that you'd settle that today. Click here or the button below to read about how you can be saved, biblically, and know that you're heading for Heaven.
God bless you as you make the most important decision to believe and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I will make thee ruler over many things: enter

16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

(To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of Asaph.) I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.
I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.
Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.
I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.
Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?
Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?
Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.
And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.
I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.
I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.
Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.
The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.
The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.
Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.
Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, "Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out"
But the wise answered, saying, "Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves."
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, "Lord, Lord, open to us."
But he answered and said, "Verily I say unto you, I know you not."
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Acts 8:26-40
And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, "Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert."
And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.
Then the Spirit said unto Philip, "Go near, and join thyself to this chariot." And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, "Understandest thou what thou readest?"
And he said, "How can I, except some man should guide me?" And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
The place of the scripture which he read was this, "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth."
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, "I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?"
Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, "See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?"
And Philip said, "If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest."
And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
